Document signing
Send a PDF for signature from Lead16, and keep a sealed copy with a full audit trail.
Send a document
- Open Documents and upload a PDF, or use Send for signature on a quote.
- Add your signers and choose Everyone at once or In order.
- Place the fields on the page.
- Click Send. Each signer gets their own link by email.
In order means the next person gets no link until the person before them has signed. They can see earlier text and dates in grey, but never another person's signature.
The seal
When a document is finished, Lead16 seals it:
- The certificate pages and the final file's fingerprint are signed with an Ed25519 key.
- Every event in the audit trail is chained to the one before it, so a changed or missing row shows up.
Anyone can check a copy at lead16.com/verify. The browser works out the file's fingerprint and sends only that, so the PDF never leaves the device.
The seal is tamper evidence from Lead16. It is not an Adobe-trusted certificate, so a PDF reader will not show a green tick for it.
Monthly limits
| Plan | Documents a month |
|---|---|
| Starter | 5 |
| Professional | 50 |
| Enterprise | Unlimited |
Months run on Melbourne time. Voiding a document does not give that send back.
Follow-ups
Reminders and invite retries are off until a workspace turns on Follow-ups on the Documents page. With them on, a signer gets a reminder after 3 days, and no more than 4 emails in total.
